Riverside Glen is a single-family community comprised of 52 homes located off of Romeo Plank Road in Macomb Township, Michigan. Bordering the Middle Branch of the Clinton River, Riverside Glen offers the atmosphere of a rural community with all the amenities associated with city living. Wildlife is often seen throughout the subdivision including, deer, fox, herons, rabbits, squirrels, owls and the occasional coyote.
 
Located within minutes of Riverside Glen subdivision are many conveniences including The Mall at Partridge Creek and an abundance of restaurants and entertainment venues.  
 
Riverside Glen has the distinction of being one of only a few subdivisions within Macomb Township to have its own private park. Named after the many herons that frequent the pond, Blue Heron Park includes a large pond and is available for all residents to enjoy year round.

REMINDERS:

It is a Township violation to dump debris, such as grass clippings, trees, tree branches, shrubs, shrub clippings, sod, stone, rock, mulch, or any other material, in the areas surrounding our subdivision. This includes the common areas of the park, Glen Court, Riverview Court, the berm along Romeo Plank Road and the Middle Branch of the Clinton River.

It is a Township violation to dump waste into the street sewer system and our retention pond at the end of Glen Court. 
 
No person shall discharge, or cause to be discharged, any of the following described waters or wastes to any public sewers:
- Any gasoline, benzene, naphtha, fuel oil or other flammable or explosive liquid, solid or gas.
- Any waters containing toxic or poisonous solids, liquids or gases in sufficient quantity, either singly or by the interaction with other wastes, to injure or interfere with any waste treatment process, constitute a hazard to humans or animals, create a public nuisance, or create any hazard in the receiving waters of the wastewater treatment plant.
- Any waters or wastes having a pH lower than 5.5 or higher than 8.5 or having any other corrosive property capable of causing damage or hazard to structures, equipment and personnel of the wastewater works. Solid or viscous substances (such as, but not limited to, ashes, bones, cinders, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, wood, unground garbage, whole blood, paunch manure, hair and fleshings, entrails and paper dishes, cups, milk containers, etc., either whole or ground by garbage grinders) in quantities or of such size capable of causing obstruction to the flow in sewers, or other interference with the proper operation of the wastewater facilities.

FUN FACTS:
  • The Township of Macomb was established in 1834.
  • The county and township were named after General Alexander Macomb, who was a highly decorated veteran of the War of 1812.
  • One of the first people to settle in Macomb Township was Daniel Kniffens who acquired land on the Middle Branch of the Clinton River.  This area was commonly known as the Village of Macomb Corners and is near the corner of present day 25 Mile and Romeo Plank Roads.
  • In the late 19th and early 20th century, Macomb Township was a large part of the lumber and logging industry in Southeast Michigan. Logs were transported down the Middle Branch of the Clinton River. This became known as Romeo Plank and is the name of the modern-day road that runs down the same route.
  • The 2022 Census placed Macomb Township's population at 99,305, making it Michigan's fastest growing major municipality.
  • Riverside Glen Subdivision broke ground in 1995, and in the fall of 1996 the first residents moved in.
  • The Riverside Glen Homeowners Associations (RGHA) was incorporated in February 1996 and was turned over to the residents in 1998.
