Blue Heron Park

One of the amenities available to all residents of Riverside Glen is the private park located within the subdivision. Blue Heron Park includes a large pond with a fountain, grass volleyball court, professional size barbecue grill, picnic tables and a large bonfire pit.
Blue Heron Park is available for all residents to enjoy year round. If you are planning to use the park for a large private event please let the Board Secretary or any other board member know in advance. This will ensure that there will not be any conflicts with other residents on the same day. You can find the names and phone numbers of the current board listed on the home page of the RGHA website or on your most current newsletter.
Park Rules
- Safety is the first priority; the pond is very deep. Please watch small children playing near the water.
- The pond is comprised of run-off from the subdivision drain system and river water which has not been tested or treated for contaminants.
- No swimming or wading is allowed.
- During the winter the pond may freeze over. Ice skating is at your own risk. Extreme caution must be taken before going out on the ice. Please check the ice thickness before you or your children go out on the frozen pond.
- The park is available on a first come, first served basis.
- No motorized vehicles of any type are allowed in the park. This includes cars, trucks, ATVs and motorized bikes.
- If you would like to use the park for a private event, sign up with the Riverside Glen Board Secretary, who keeps the park calendar.
- Bonfires must be in the fire pit only, never on the ground (Township ordinance).
- There is fire wood for bonfires on the west side of the park for everyone to use.
- Make sure the fire is out before you leave the park.
- Never leave a bonfire burning unattended.
- A volleyball net is available for your use. You will need to bring your own volleyball.
- Do not let children pull or hang from the volleyball net.
- If you use the lamppost light next to the barbecue grill, please turn off the light when you leave the park.
- Clean up and take away all garbage when you are done.
- The park is open from dawn until midnight each day.
- Please respect those who live near the park by keeping noise to a reasonable level.
- Park capacity is 100 people.
- RGHA homeowners may use the park picnic tables for personal use on their property with board approval. This is for short term events only (i.e., graduation parties). See section 5 Picnic Tables Blue Heron Park in the Policies and Procedures section for instructions.
